While its a bit off topic, we ran into a WD15 dock issue today at one of our clients. Our client has a preboot environment to protect their laptops. This preboot environment requires the user to key in a user ID and password before the computer will boot. The client was mentioning that they could not enter their user id and password from an external key board plugged into the WD We took a look at it today and found the USB devices on the dock are not powered until sometime during the windows OS boot.
So this device, even though its powered by the power brick doesn't power up any usb port until the target OS is running. Not really helpful. If we plugged the external keyboard directly into the laptop they were able to key in the required password to boot.
